It’s 3 am, and you’ve spent the past hour and a half trying to unlock one last Halo Reach Achievement: If They Came to Hear Me Beg. You had heard the rumours; that this achievement was a little more difficult than most, that it might be a little glitched, but you were not deterred. You would prevail.
Or so you thought.
3 cups of coffee and a broken controller later, you still haven’t unlocked the achievement. You’ve jumped of the cliff 200 times, you’ve cancelled your sprint in mid air every time, you’ve made sure not to land directly on the Elite every time, and it still refuses to unlock.
You’re about to give up hope, but do not despair….. CruelLEGACEY has come to your rescue with this “If they came to hear me beg” video achievement guide.
Now that you’ve watched the video, let’s get a little more detailed.
The clip in the video was recorded on the Legendary difficulty setting. The Elite I landed on doesn’t always show up on lower difficulties.
As you approach the cliff, make sure you silently kill the Elite and the 2 sleeping grunts… if you make any noise at all, Jun will go into Rambo mode and start shooting at everything in sight, making it impossible to get the drop on your achievement unlocking target.
If you’ve done everything right up until now, you should find yourself in position above the Elite. When his back is turned, sprint and jump off the cliff, getting as much height as possible. If you run off the cliff without jumping, the fall won’t be high enough to unlock the achievement.
One more important point: the rule about deactivation sprint in mid-air is a complete myth. As you can see in the video, I did not deactivate sprint when I hit the target, but the achievement unlocked none the less.
Hope this helps…. good luck!
