Making machinima is a fun and rewarding experience. It is also a deeply complicated process, with many hurdles to overcome between the moment you write your first line of dialog and the moment you watch your completed video. To help guide newcomers through this process, I’ve written a step-by-step guide: “How to make machinima”.
With the help of my friends at Halo Waypoint, I have released this guide in 5 parts. Each part covers an important element of machinima production, from voice recording to final editing. To help illustrate the process, I use the development of my own machinima series “Playtime” as an example. All 5 parts are now available on Halo Waypoint.
- Part 1: Voice Acting and Audio Recording
- Part 2: Storyboards and Animatics
- Part 3: Filming
- Part 4: Editing
- Part 5: Audio Editing, Music, and Final Production
